“Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh”
First of all, I would like to congratulate The Association of Exporters and Producers of Indonesian Handicraft (ASEPHI) and PT. Mediatama Binakreasi for the holding of The 21th Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT 2019).
The ability of the Indonesian people to produce quality handicraft products has been recognized by the world. Raw materials, variations and product designs from these industry
become the essence of the superiority possessed by our beloved nation. However, this huge potential needs to be supported by an action plan that can be followed up simultaneously by stakeholders, including government, Small and Medium Industry players and public. In this case, the Ministry of Industry through the Directorate General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) always supports the progress of domestic craft products by developing strategic steps to spur the productivity and competitiveness of Small and Medium Industries (SMI’s) amid the current volatile market changes both dometic and overseas.
Some coaching programs that has been done by the Ministry of Industry includes facilitating the rescue of the national IKM with various improvements such as human resources, mentoring and fostering design experts, facilitation of machine / equipment restructuring programs, facilitation of SNI certification, facilitation of financing access, and promotional spaces in the form of activities such as INACRAFT exhibition and online marketing through e-Smart IKM in expectance of increasing the charisma of the national craft industry.
The INACRAFT exhibition is one of the annual activities that we entrust to be able to support SMI’s craft players from all regions in Indonesia to further enhance creativity and ideas in creating superior products. We do hope that the INACRAFT exhibition will always accommodate SMI’s players in conducting direct sales transactions and negotiations with buyers both locally and internationally to boost the value of Indonesian exports, which at the end of 2018 reached US $ 870 million.
Hopefully the INACRAFT 2019 can continue to encourage growth of local human resources especially for regional SMI’s to be more independent and productive in order to expand the market of their products to foreign markets and still survive in the midst of the invasion of imported products which is a big challenge for the domestic market.
“Wassalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh”
