Brooch Selendang Batik Parang

This pendant incorporates the Batik Parang pattern, one of the oldest patterns descending from the Mataram Kartasura kingdom (now Solo). Parang is derived from the word parang meaning slope, represented in the pattern by diagonal lines. The batik is composed of an arrangement of intertwining S patterns which represents continuity, with the basic S shape inspired by waves representing resilience.
