Pada tahun 1942, Kekaisaran Jepang menginvasi Hindia Belanda dan menguasai pulau jawa hingga dikalahkan pada tahun 1945. Soekarno memproklamirkan kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1945. Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX segera mengirimkan surat kepada Sukarno, menyatakan dukungannya terhadap bangsa Indonesia yang baru lahir dan mengakui Kesultanan Yogyakarta sebagai bagian dari Republik Indonesia.

Kota Yogyakarta mengandalkan sektor industri, perdagangan, dan jasa, khususnya dalam bidang pariwisata. Seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan Kota Yogyakarta, perubahan struktur perekonomian menjadi hal yang alami. Beberapa sektor ekonomi terus meningkat kontribusinya terhadap perekonomian daerah dan sektor-sektor lain terlihat mengalami penurunan kontribusi terhadap perekonomian daerah.

Yogyakarta memiliki beberapa sentra industri menengeh, kebanyakan dari mereka memproduksi barang yang masih ada kaitannya dengan kebudayaan Yogyakarta. Seperti industri pembuatan blangkon gaya Yogyakarta di Mantrijeran, industri perak di Kotagede, dan industri batik gaya Yogyakarta di Ngasem. Meski begitu, Yogyakarta juga memiliki sentra industri modern, seperti produsen alat-alat pertanian, yang memiliki pabrik di Jalan Magelang, Kelurahan Karangsewu, Kemantren Tegalrejo. Di sektor perdagangan, Yogyakarta memilikia pasar tradisional yang tersebar di beberapa kemantren, dengan pasar Beringharjo sebagai pasar terbesar. Beberapa pasar besar lainnya, seperti Pasar Kranggan, Pasar Legi Kotagede. Pasar Sentul, dan Pasar Giwangan. Pasar tradisional di Yogyakarta tidak hanya menjual bahan pokok, melainkan juga menjual beberapa barang bekas atau barang antik. Salah satu pasar Klithikan Pakuncen yang terletak di Kelurahan Pakuncen, Wirobrajan.

Besarnya keinginan Pemerintah Provinci D.I. Yogyakart menjadi ikon INACRAFT 2025 sebagai langkah yang tepat memperkenalkan seni, karya kreatif dan budaya kepada masyarakat Indonesia serta mancanegara. Dengan branding “Glorious Yogyakarta” pemerintah Provinsi terus menerus melakukan promosi wisata, seni dan budaya D.I. Yogyakarta tidak hanya di dalam negeri.

Target dan harapan pemerintah D.I. Yogyakarta tentunya memotivasi kami untuk ikut berperan membangun kemajuan D.I. Yogykarta melalui kegiatan pameran INACRAFT 2025. Pada kesempatan ini, kami juga mengajak produsen , pengusaha handiraft bersama pemerintah D.I Yogyakarta ikut mengambil bagian mempromosikan karya kreatif handicraft Indonesia di ajang pameran Handicraft yang akan diselenggarakan tanggal 5-9 Februari 2025 di Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Center.

Sukarno proclaimed the Independence of the Indonesian Republic on 17 August 1945, Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX promptly sent a letter to Sukarno, expressing his support for the newly born nation of Indonesia and acknowledging the Yogyakarta Sultanate as part of the Indonesian Republic.

The city of Yogyakarta relies on the industrial, trade, and service sector, especially in the tourism sector. Along with the repid development of the city of Yogyakarta, changes in the economic structure have become natural. Some economic sectors continue to increase their contribution to the regional economy and other sectors appear to have decreased their contribution to the regional economy.

Yogyakarta has several medium-sized industrial centers, most of wich produce goods that are still related to Yogyakarta culture. Such as the Yogyakarta style blangkon making industry in Mantrijeron, the silver industr in Kotagede, and the Yogyakarta style batik industry in Ngasem. However, Yogyakarta also has modern industrial centers, such as agricultural equipment manufactures, wich have factories in Jalan Magelang, Karangwaru Village, and Tegalrejo Kemantren. In the trade sector. Yogyakarta has several traditional markets spread across several Kemantren, with Beringharjo market as the market, biggest. Several other large Markets, sucha as Kranggan Market. Legi Kotagede Market. Sentul Market, and Giwangan Market. Traditional markets in Yogyakarta not only sell basic materials but also sell some used goods or antiques. One of the used and antique goods markets in Yogyakarta is the Kluthikan Pakuncen Market which is located in Pakuncen Village, Wirobrajan.

The great desire of the Provincial Government of D.I. Yogyakarta has become an icon for INACRAFT 2025 as the right step to introduce art, creative work, and culture to Indonesian “Glorious Yogyakarta” the provincial government continues to promote Special Region of Yogyakarta tourism, art, and culture, not only within the country.

The targets and hopes of the Special Region of Yogyakarta certainly motivate us to play a role in building the progress of Special Region of Yogyakarta through the INACRAFT 2025 exhibition. On this occasion, we also invite producers, and handicraft entrepreneurs together with the Government of Special Region of Yogyakarta is take part in promoting creative Indonesian handicraft works at the INACRAFT exhibition which will be held on February 5th – 9th, 2025 at the Jakarta Convention Center.

INACRAFT is facing it’s 25th Silver anniversary after it’s first show in 1999 during “economic crisis” and passing through succesfully pandemic years and witnessing the changing of Indonesian Presidents many times.
